Background

Paranormal investigators typically gather a collection of interesting audio evidence, which could be either electronic voice phenomena, or direct voice phenomena but what can we learn about the paranormal using them?

We analysed dozens of EVPs and recorded DVP to see if there were any common factors in the structure of the sound waves and noted that time after time these recordings included a high proportion of soundwaves which existed in the 400Hz-550Hz range.   By applying a gain to the amplitude of this range, it made these EVPs & DVPs significantly clearer.  During this experimentation, we nicknamed this the “Ghost Frequency”

What is the G-Freq?

The Ghost Frequency can be useful post investigation, but clarifying potential communication during experiments at an investigation would be invaluable.  It could be achieved using sound equaliser equipment, which is often expensive and require considerable investment in time to setup correctly.

With time efficiency to get up and running and a much more affordable entry point, the G-Freq partial band pass filter enables considerable flexibility in including the Ghost Frequency experiment in your investigations.

The G-Freq is a passive filter, so requires no batteries but does require both it’s input and output to have powered output. For example, when using a sound recorder to conduct a burst EVP session, the G-Freq can be plugged inline between the sound recorder playing the EVP and a powered speaker used to listen to it.   The G-Freq won’t work with unpowered outputs, such as passive earphones.  The voltage of the filtered sound isn’t enough to drive unpowered devices.

G-Freq experiments

Here is some ideas about how you could connect up the G-Freq filter to conduct your own experiments, though there are so many ways you can utilise the Ghost Frequency in your investigations:

  • Spirit Box passed through the G-Freq into a Microphone port of an audio recorder. The output of that audio recorder could be connected to headphones or a speaker. This could allow for enhanced spirit box or Estes method sessions.
  • Audio recorder using it’s built in microphone or external port to record, passing through the G-Freq into a Microphone port of an audio recorder which is also recording. This would give you two audio tracks, one with the Ghost Frequency filter, and one without for you to compare.
  • Playing existing EVPs/ recorded DVPs out of an audio source such as an mp3 player/laptop through the G-Freq into the microphone port into an audio recorder. This would allow you to try and improve the clarity on your evidence collection

In case you don't have any 3.5mm Jack audio cables, we can supply 25cm versions if you select the option in your order.  The G-Freq doesn't come with cables as standard.
